REGISTRATION UPDATE
Verify your registration in the WALT DISNEY WORLD®
Marathon and Half Marathon. All runners will need to
verify their registration
to ensure that everything is set for them to compete in January!
The Full Marathon has reached 85% of course capacity.
Half Marathon and Goofy's Race and a Half Challenge entries are
ONLY available through
Groups and Charities. The Circle of Life 5K has reached
80% of course capacity.
WHERE ARE YOU STAYING MARATHON WEEKEND?
If you haven't already
booked your travel for Marathon Weekend, then please consider
the WALT DISNEY WORLD®
Resorts located along the monorail. Disney's Polynesian
Resort, Disney's Contemporary Resort, and Disney's Grand
Floridian Resort and Spa provide fantastic viewing locations for
Magic Kingdom® Park fireworks nightly and easy access to the
monorail transportation. Simply ride the monorail to the
Transportation and Ticket Center where you can board the monorail
for Epcot® to take you to the start line!

MICKEY'S MARATHON KIDS' FEST
Come be a part of Mickey's Marathon Kids' Fest January 9 - 10, 2009,
during Marathon Weekend at Disney’s Wide World of Sports®
Track & Field Complex. The event will feature games and activities
guaranteed to get you warmed up for Disney's Kids' Races. We have
the perfect distance for each age group and all participants earn
their own shirt and Finisher Medal. This year's event will also
include the inaugural Mickey Mile, a chip-timed one mile race open
to children ages 13 & under.

TRAINING TIPS FROM Clif Bar
Certain aspects of training can help runners of all ability, and
this includes incorporating pacing into your preparations. This is
the first of five tips for using running on pace as part of your
marathon training. Weekly long runs – your long training run pace
should be about 1:30 to 2 minutes slower than your marathon goal
pace. If you are training to run a 4:00 marathon, for instance, the
race pace is 9:10 per mile, so try to do your long runs at a steady
